Why I'm Running For Congress

Sunflower, the symbol of the Green Party

You must be the change you want to see in the world.

-Mahatma Gandhi

It's time for a change in congress -- and that change is Tristin Mock. Before earning her degree as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Tristin studied history, biology, international relations, and gerontology. She grew up in The Dalles and attended public schools. Tristin is raising her daughter in La Grande.

Both Tristin's father and step-father were members of the United Steelworkers union at Northwest Aluminum. Her father was an army veteran, and her step-father navy. These male influences gave her an appreciation of the life combat soldiers face. Tristin's mother worked in retail, with seniors, and for The Dalles Chronicle.

Dr. Mock has worked hard to improve the quality of life in her community. She spent most of her time as a naturopathic intern in low-cost and free clinics. She volunteered as an office intern for Guardianships Plus of Washington County, a group of seniors that helps other seniors with their fiducial needs.

Tristin cares about the environment. She's a member of the Pacific Green Party and the League of Conservation Voters. When Tristin graduated from the National College of Natural Medicine, she swore an oath to "preserve the health of our planet for ourselves, our families, and future generations." Tristin understands that concern for the environment can actually foster new markets. She is excited to bring these opportunities to Oregon.

Tristin will bring her focused and intelligent enthusiasm to congress. She will be the sixth woman to represent Oregon in Congress, and the first woman in Congress from a minor party. Tristin is committed to a healthy environment, sustainable development, peace, and universal healthcare.

Most importantly, Tristin knows community voice in government is critical to our success. In order to remain a representative of the people, Tristin does not accept corporate contributions. She will unite people to bring about future-focused solutions.

That's why Tristin asks for your vote by Nov 4th
